FOLLY IRON ARTS

It all started when I was eleven years old. I saw an old Japanese blade-smithing documentary on PBS. From that moment on I was hooked. Being an unsupervised kid with a rampant imagination I went on to collect every cinderblock in the neighborhood and created my own back yard forge. Filled with scrap wood and charcoal I was able get a piece of scrap pipe hot enough to hammer into the shape of a Katana. And it was the best time an eleven year old could have. Obviously I wasn't very well read on the subject at the time.
Fast forward 16 or so years, blacksmithing has always stayed with me. I have never been able to shake a fascination with technical endeavors. I have always gravitated towards detail orientated processes.
Late 2019 I decided I wanted to get back to the forge and make kitchen knives and eating tools. My time spent blacksmithing in the backyard, mixed with a decade of working in fine dining, created a love for finely crafted blades that I hope to share with you.
Everything I make is made with my highest level of confidence and quality. I only release works that meet my standard of excellence.
